This privacy policy statement explains how information about you is collected, used, and disclosed by Beacon Legal Group, PLLC (“BLG”, “we” or “us”) when you use our websites, mobile applications, blogs, and social media (the “Services”) or otherwise interact with us as described below. This policy applies only to website users who are not BLG clients.
Client information is held in strictest confidence and not shared with anyone who is not directly involved in the client’s case. Under federal law, attorneys are required to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. BLG follows the professional standards of confidentiality found in Rule 1.6 of the Arkansas Rules of Professional Conduct that provide even better privacy protection than federal statutes. Personally identifiable information and case details are not released to people outside BLG unless approved by the client, required by law, or required by the Rules of Professional Conduct. BLG maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect our clients’ information.
We may change this website privacy policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of this policy, and in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as by adding a statement to the homepage or by sending an email notification). We encourage you to review this policy whenever you access the Services to stay informed about our information practices.
Collection of Information
Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you send us an email, fill out a form, respond to a survey, register for an event, enter a promotional drawing, or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include your name, postal address, email address, phone number, occupation and business contact information, social media handles / profile names, demographic information, payment method preferences, communication preferences, state bar number, and/or any other information you choose to provide.
Information We Automatically Collect
When you access or use the Services, we automatically collect certain information about you, including:
- Log Information: Our servers collect log files when you access our Services, including your browser type and language, access times, pages viewed, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the webpage or online service you visited before navigating to our Services.
- Device Information: We collect information about the mobile device you use to access our mobile applications, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: We and our service providers use various technologies to collect information, including cookies and web beacons (or pixel tags). - With the applicable state bar association, we may share your name and bar number in connection with an application for CLE credit;
- With vendors, consultants, and other service providers who are working on our behalf and need access to your information to carry out their work for us;
- In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of BLG’s assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company;
- In response to a request for information if required by, or we believe disclosure is in accordance with, any applicable law, regulation, or legal process;
- If we believe your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property and safety of us or any third party;
- With your consent or at your direction, including if we notify you that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information.
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you. Please note that information you post in blogs, listings, public or private groups, forums and any other interactive areas of the Services, will be available to other users of those features and in some cases may be publicly available.
Social Sharing Features
The Services may enable social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” button), which let you share actions you take on our Services with other media, and vice versa. The use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature. Analytics and Advertising Services Provided by Others
We may allow other companies to use cookies, web beacons and other technologies on the Services that collect information about your use of the Services and other websites, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and conversion information. Your Choices
Promotional Communications
If we send you marketing or promotional emails, you may opt out of receiving those emails from us by following the instructions in them. Please note that even if you opt out of receiving promotional emails, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your case (if you are a client) or our ongoing business relations.
Cookies
Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually set your browser to remove or reject cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our Services.
Do-Not-Track Signals
Most web browsers can be set to send a do-not-track signal to our website. At this time, BLG’s website does not recognize or respond to a do-not-track signal.
